While the general category of dirt bike games online does a good job of describing the type of game you might be playing, the genre can be split into a variety of smaller game types. These individual games can fall into multiple side categories, or they may fit extremely well into just one. While these smaller categorizations may describe each game more accurately, it also makes it much more difficult to classify all motor bike games in an orderly fashion. It's possible that each individual motorcycle game could create and encompass its own individual genre and style, given the multitude of games out there.

There are three main categories that most dirt bike games fall into, and they can generally be assigned to each different game of this style on the Internet. In this blog post, I will name some of the specific categories of dirt bike games that are commonly known across the web. Often, being aware of the categorizations of dirtbike games will help you pick out exactly what kind of game you are looking for and save you the trouble of searching the web.

Freestyle Motocross Games One of the more dangerous styles of dirt bike games is the FMX (or freestyle motocross) category. A number of different tricks are performed in freestyle motocross games to impress the crowd and judges, ultimately earning you points. These types of games are much different than the other styles of dirt bike games, as you will not be required to win a race or overcome obstacles, but only to perform stunts to the best of your ability. You may be able to do no handers and front flips among other types of tricks.



Motocross Games The most broad of the three main styles of dirt bike games is the motocross games category, describing any and all games involving dirt bikes. Sometimes these games involve other off-road vehicles, but always involve dirt bikes as the staple vehicle in the game. Typically, you will be racing against other computer simulated racers or trying to break your own record time in the time trial mode of free motocross games.



Dirt Bike Racing Games Beat the other racers on the track with you and you will end up the champion in any dirt bike racing game that you are able to find online. Sometimes, however, you may be challenged to beat your own personal best times, and not just beat out other racers that are on the track with you.

That wraps up the main genres of dirt bike games that are currently in existence. Of course, as previously stated, there are a number of other types of dirt bike games available on the web. Many of these other games don't really fit into the three general categories that we have discussed in this blog post.
